Cash Reserve:

You need to build a strong cash reserve before you launch your small business. Put any extra money that you get from a raise, bonus or stock options into a special fund for your business. Remember goes so quickly and you should save double the amount than you have estimated to have in hands for successfully launching your small business.

Financial Risk:

Know your financial risks! It will never happen that you always see the bright side of the picture. You may be excited about your idea, but you need to be practical. You should know that how much money you can afford to lose if the business isn't successful and if you will be able to cover your personal expenses and meet other financial goals. You will likely use a combination of your own money, friends and family, credit cards, bank loans and other financing. Maintain your personal account and business account separately. There should not be any ambiguity in how much cash you have, how much you're spending and how much is coming in.
