Dangerous Health Hazards: Seven Pains: Must Read!
Nobody wants a pain yet everybody experience it one day or another. In home, in office, in bus, on bed, on your way --- it can happen anywhere. Even if you are sitting idle you may feel a sudden pain. No matter mild or severe, pain is a necessary evil of your life.
Pain can interfere with work, sleep, relationships and overall happiness. But many people live with untreated pain anyway and just do not bother about most of the pains they experience. Either they ignore the pain or they assume pain is good for them as it builds strength and character. We keep on hearing dialogue like this
"This is not a joke, take it seriously”
"But I have an important meeting"
"And how many meetings will you miss if you land in the hospital?"
"I'll give it one more day. If problem still persists, I will visit a doctor”
And so on....
Remember pain always means that some part of your body needs attention and an increasing pain is a sign that something is getting worse. Some people avoid pain medication thinking, over time your body will stop responding to it and it won't work anymore.
Here is for you a quick healthcheck for some evil pains that should not be ignored in any case.
Did you ever have a worst Headache of your Life?
You should get medical attention immediately. Remember visiting a doctor does not mean that there is something serious.
If you have a cold, it could be a sinus headache but in extreme case you could have a brain hemorrhage or brain tumor. With any pain, unless you're sure of what caused it, get it checked out.
When someone says they have the worst headache of their life then most possibly it is a classic sign of a brain aneurysm. Go immediately to the ER!
Is there severe Abdominal Pain??
Do you still have your appendix?? Go to doctor and do not wait for it to be ruptured. Other possible causes of abdominal pain that need attention include gallbladder and pancreas problems, stomach ulcers, and intestinal blockages.
Do you feel Pain or Discomfort in the Abdomen, Arm, Chest, Jaw, Shoulder or Throat?
Chest pain could be pneumonia or a heart attack. You must be aware of the fact that heart conditions typically appear as discomfort, not pain.
Never wait for pain!! Most heart patients talk about pressure. They'll clench their fist and put it over their chest or you will hear them saying an elephant is sitting on their chest.
Remember you heart disease is not only associated with discomfort in the heart rather the discomfort associated with heart disease could also be in the upper chest, throat, jaw, left shoulder or arm, or abdomen and might be accompanied by nausea .
You also feel discomfort related to excitement, emotional upset or hard work. You may experience it when you are gardening but it goes away when you sit down --- that is angina. Angina is usually worse in cold or hot weather.
A woman's discomfort signs can be more subtle!! Heart disease can pretend to be GI symptoms, such as bloating, GI distress, or discomfort in the abdomen. It's also associated with feeling tired.
In woman, after menopause, the risk for heart disease increases dramatically. Although men are at higher risk of heart disease at any age still it kills more women!
Do you feel pain in Lower Back or Between Shoulder Blades?
If you feel pain in lower back or between shoulder blades then most often it will be arthritis. Other possibilities include a heart attack or abdominal problems.
One danger is aortic dissection, which can appear as either an irritating or sudden pain. People who are at risk have conditions like high blood pressure, a history of circulation problems, smoking, and diabetes that changes the integrity of the vessel wall.
Is there a vague pain that you can not explain?
In case of depression, various painful, physical symptoms are common. Most people have vague complaints of headaches, abdominal pain, or limb pain and sometimes they happen in combination. This is true that the more depressed you are, the more difficulty you have describing your feelings.
Do not forget to get help when you lose interest in activities, unable to work or think effectively, and you can't get along with people. Remember depression can deteriorate the quality of your life. You must treat it aggressively before it causes structural changes in the brain.
Are you ignoring your Calf Pain??
Calf is the area of leg between the knee and the ankle. Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is amongst a one of the lesser known dangers. It is a blood clot that can occur in the leg's deep veins.
Beware; it can be life-threatening. The danger is that a piece of the clot could break loose and cause a clot in the lungs, which could be fatal. Among the risk factors is cancer, obesity, immobility due to prolonged bed rest or long-distance travel, pregnancy, and advanced age.
Sometimes it happens that there is just a swelling and not pain. If you have swelling and pain in your calf muscles, see a doctor immediately.
Does your Feet or Legs Burn??
A large number of people suffering from diabetes remain undiagnosed. In some people who don't know they have diabetes, peripheral neuropathy could be one of the first signs. Peripheral Neuropathy is a burning or pins-and-needles sensation in the feet or legs that can indicate nerve damage.
